LYRC offers One to One Mentoring, Group Mentoring & Family Support to young People

Their initial needs are discussed and their progress documented through an Individual Mentoring Programme – this is individually structured to match each person’s needs.

Young people are referred to LYRC by partner agencies such as Primary and Secondary schools, Pupil Referral Units, Youth Inclusion Support Panels and community organisations. Mentoring provide these young people with a safe context in which to express their feelings, talk openly about their struggles, and work through difficulties.

LYRC’s support provide a quality service to help mentees overcome some of the following:

  • Persistent absence or exclusion from school
  • Behavioural problems
  • Poor emotional, social or coping skills
  • Poor aspirations
  • Poor family support, family conflicts or problems such as parental substance misuse
  • Poor support networks
  • Ex-offending
