Inspiring Young Enfield (IYE)
Our Ethos
Inspiring Young Enfield (IYE) is a borough-wide partnership that puts young people at the heart of Enfield’s future.
Led by Enfield Council’s Youth Development Service, it brings together schools, community organisations, and residents to create opportunities that help young people thrive, stay safe, and achieve their goals.
At the core of Inspiring Young Enfield is a simple truth — community partnership is the key to success.
Everything achieved so far has been built through collaboration: youth workers, mentors, local groups, schools, and families working together to support the next generation.
IYE is built on connection, consistency, and change.
It tackles exclusion, isolation, and risk by offering positive experiences that build confidence, skills, and belonging. Through mentoring, personal development, creative arts, sports, and leadership opportunities, IYE continues to show that when young people are supported and believed in, they can achieve extraordinary things.
Our Journey So Far
Inspiring Young Enfield Partnership Programme
Launched in 2020 with support from the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners Fund, this flagship partnership united 22 community projects to create safe, engaging, and purposeful opportunities for young people aged 10 to 21.
Over 18,000 young people have taken part — more than three times the original target — in programmes spanning sports, performing arts, mentoring, and employment skills.
This collaborative model has become a blueprint for prevention, empowerment, and youth voice in Enfield.

Inspiring Young Enfield: Mentoring to Succeed
Born from the success of the original partnership, Mentoring to Succeed launched in 2023 to provide structured one-to-one support across Enfield.
More than 1,100 young people have already taken part, with trained mentors helping them to improve mental health, education outcomes, and personal resilience.
Guided by the Mayor of London’s Mentoring Quality Framework, the programme ensures that every young person can access consistent support from a trusted adult who believes in them.

Inspiring Young Enfield: MyEnds Hyper-Local Partnership
The newest strand of the IYE family, launched in 2025, brings together 12 grassroots organisations to deliver community-led projects tackling violence reduction, wellbeing, and youth empowerment.
The MyEnds approach gives local residents and young people the tools to design real solutions for their own neighbourhoods, building safer, stronger, and more connected communities.

A Movement for Enfield’s Young People
From 2020 to today, Inspiring Young Enfield has evolved from a single project into a borough-wide movement — connecting over 19,000 young people with trusted mentors, safe spaces, and meaningful opportunities.
Together with our partners, we continue to champion a simple message:
Young people are not the problem — they are the promise.
