Overview
The Inspiring Young Enfield Partnership Programme marked the beginning of the IYE journey, a borough-wide collaboration uniting 22 community-led projects to create opportunities, reduce risks, and build brighter futures for young people across Enfield.
Launched in 2020 and funded through the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners Fund, the programme was coordinated by Enfield Council’s Youth Development Service and built on one clear principle: community partnership is the key to success.
Through shared commitment to early intervention, inclusion, and empowerment, the partnership created a network of trusted organisations providing mentoring, creative arts, sports, training, and personal development opportunities for young people aged 10 to 21.
Our Impact
Over a three-and-a-half-year period, Inspiring Young Enfield achieved outcomes that exceeded all expectations and became one of the highest-performing youth programmes in London.
- 18,426 young people engaged across Enfield
- 17,329 completed activities, more than three times the original target
- 94% retention rate, exceeding national benchmarks
- 80% of participants recorded increased engagement in positive activities
- Significant improvements in behaviour, mental health, and relationships
- Delivered at 81–90% lower cost per participant than comparable London programmes
These achievements reflect a borough working together, with youth services, schools, and community partners aligning around a shared mission to give every young person the chance to thrive.

Building on this legacy, Enfield’s Youth Development Service and its partners are now:
- Sustaining the network of IYE providers, supporting continued collaboration and shared learning.
- Embedding the IYE model into borough-wide youth policy and practice.
- Strengthening data and outcome measurement, ensuring impact remains at the centre of delivery.
- Connecting IYE graduates into ongoing opportunities through Mentoring to Succeed and the MyEnds Hyper-Local Partnership.
The partnership continues to inspire, demonstrating that effective collaboration is not just a project model, it is a movement shaping the future of Enfield’s young people.
