The Corporate Parenting Principles

In delivering on our strategy, we will meet the core Corporate Parenting Principles in relation to all our Care Leavers.

We will:

• Act in their best interests, and promote their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
• Encourage them to express their views, wishes and feelings.
• Take into account their views, wishes and feelings.
• Help them gain access to, and make the best use of, services provided by the local authority and its relevant partners.
• Promote high aspirations and seek to secure the best outcomes for them.
• Support them to be safe, with stability in their home lives, relationships and education, training or work.
• Prepare them for adulthood and independent living.
