Local Offer for Care Leavers

This is the guide that all local authorities are required to provide you with. It contains information about the services and support that Care Leavers are entitled to and able to access within their local authority.

We will update this information regularly as new services and entitlements are agreed.

Who We Are

Enfield Care Leavers Team is here to help you get ready to live on your own. We are your main source of support.

Who We Help

We work with young people who have been in care or are still in care, from age 16 to 25.

Coming Back for Support

  • If you are a care leaver aged 21 to 25 and your circumstances change, you can contact the Enfield Care Leavers Service at any time and ask for support again.
  • You do not need to be actively working with a Personal Advisor to get help.
  • We will talk with you about your needs and the support available, which may include a new assessment and Pathway Plan where appropriate.
  • Whether you need advice about housing, finances, education, employment, relationships, wellbeing or another issue, we are here to help until your 25th birthday.

Our Team

The team has:

  • Social Workers
  • Personal Advisors
  • Specialist Workers like our Participation and Engagement Officer

Personal Advisors will normally start helping you when you turn 18 and become an adult. You can learn more about their jobs in the glossary section of this Offer.

Pathway Plan

Every 6 months as a minimum, you and your Social Worker or Personal Advisor will look at and update your Pathway Plan. This plan helps you decide what goals you want to reach and how we can help you. We will check your plan regularly to see if you met your goals, if you need more time or if we need to set up new ones.

The Local Offer and your Pathway Plan work together. The Local Offer explains what support is available and your Pathway Plan explains how that support will help you achieve your own goals.

These include our Care Leavers Hub, Care Leavers Forum, Lifelong Links Service, Keeping Close Project, specialist immigration support, employment programmes, parenting support services and emotional wellbeing support. These services have been designed to help you build strong relationships, achieve your goals and access the same opportunities that any good parent would want for their own child.

If you need help outside normal hours or at weekends, you can call Enfield’s Emergency Duty Team on 020 8379 1000.

The Hub is on the ground floor of our office at Thomas Hardy House, 39 London Road, EN2 6DS. It is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but some activities might happen at different times.
